After already raising a massive $8.4 billion in funding in the first quarter (Jan-Mar) of Calendar Year (CY) 2022, the Indian startup ecosystem is accelerating towards a promising future with tremendous potential. While we celebrate this progress and what it means for the country, it is also important to acknowledge and truly appreciate the vital role that venture capitalists play in the whole process.

The new year might only be a change of date in the Gregorian calendar but for most, it is a ray of hope, the ending we need to build a new beginning. Especially as we continue to adjust to life with COVID-19, creating one ‘new normal’ after another, with the looming threat of uncertainty. When the last 24 months have been all about simply surviving, the idea of moving forward can feel a tad strange. Yet, it is by holding on to this idea that we can drive positive change and create a better tomorrow.

In a matter of months, we have not only seen but also felt the impact of COVID-19. This global crisis has brought about a fundamental shift in all of us — transforming the way we feel, experience, evaluate, and respond to situations. While earlier we were more exploratory and open to change, the omnipresent uncertainty in COVID-19 times has enforced caution upon us.
